Varador 2000 gives courses in Mataró for unemployed people about repair&refit
Mataró City Council has awarded the company Varador 2000 the public tender to provide two courses for the unemployed on boat repair and maintenance. The courses, which are subsidised by the Catalan Employment Service (SOC) and the European Social Fund, involve 32 unemployed people from Mataró and the surrounding area who want to retrain or improve their training and preparation in the field. Varador 2000 is one of the leading companies in the Catalan nautical sector and has always been committed to training and improving the technical qualifications of professionals.
The two courses (‘Auxiliary maintenance operations of structural elements and surface coating of sports and recreational boats’ and ‘Auxiliary maintenance operations of systems and equipment of sports and recreational boats’ ) have a theoretical and a practical component and are given by four specialist teachers from Warsaw.
The courses, which last three months, are structured in several modules that include a series of basic procedures on repairing wooden elements, fibre-reinforced plastic and surface embellishment; basic mechanisation; basic maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment and systems; and basic maintenance of the propulsion plant and auxiliary systems of the boats.
