Varador 2000 shipyard & marina participates for the first time in the Mini Transat 2021 ocean regatta with a very competitive boat skippered by the young Carlos Manera. It is a Nacira 650 built at the French shipyard FR Nautisme, which has a highly proven competitive record.

Varador 2000, name sponsor of this boat, proposes its participation in the Mini Transat regatta as a long-distance sports project, whose starting point is the 2021 edition and the arrival or consolidation point is the 2023 edition. The challenge is enormous, but the trust placed in Carlos Manera makes us look to the future with optimism.

Our project is a commitment to youth and to the training of the sailors of the future. A regatta like the Mini Transat is not only an adventure, it is a unique experience where the best are toughened. You have to be very strong mentally to embark on board a 6.5 meter sailboat and cross the Atlantic alone. Mental strength, physical endurance, technical expertise and job well done, these are qualities that at Varador 2000 we value greatly, as they are part of our industrial DNA.

In Varador 2000 we have always put faith in training, in its many variants and facets, that is why we are convinced that our commitment to Carlos Manera is a bet with a solid foundation for the future. In the Mini Transat he will finish training as a sailor and will acquire the necessary experience to, in the future, tackle other challenges of greater importance such as the Vendée Globe, where other sailors from the country already stand out, such as Dídac Costa, who is also formed in the Mini Transat (2011), or as Àlex Pella, the only Spanish sailor who has been on the podium of the Mini Transat twice (2003 and 2005), and the only one who has also won the queen stage of the regatta (2005) between the Canary Islands and Brazil. It should be said that Àlex Pella began his professional career in Varador 2000, at the beginning of the first decade of this century.

With the Mini 6.5 that Varador 2000 sponsors in the Mini Transat 2021, the company recovers a long tradition of support for competitive sport sailing. Throughout its more than thirty-five years of history, Varador 2000 has participated with its own boat or as a sponsor of others in innumerable inshore regattas, winning many competitions and trophies such as the same Copa del Rey sailing in 2010 and 2012 with the Comet 41 Power Plate.

He has also participated in the Conde de Godó Sailing Trophy representing the organizing club, the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona (RCNB) with the OCR 0  class sailboat Varador 2000-Original Sin. It has also taken part in other sports projects of high competition regattas with high-level boats such as the Bulevard Rosa, the Up & Down, or the Bolsa de Barcelona, among others.
