Varador 2000 will sponsor the sailing yacht Comet@ in the Sailing King’s Cup
Varador 2000 and the Comet@ sailing team have reached a collaboration agreement for the next edition of the Copa del Rey de Vela, which will be held in the bay of Palma de Mallorca from August 2 to 9, 2014. Under this agreement, Varador 2000 will sponsor the Comet@ sailboat , an eleven-meter Vrolijk 37, which this year came in second place (ORC 2 class) in the prestigious Conde de Godó de Vela trophy held last May.
The agreement was signed by Xiqui Mas, general manager of Varador 2000, and Lluís Blanchar, the sailboat’s owner. The Comet@ is a very competitive boat that aspires to win the Copa del Rey , a regatta in which it has achieved good results every time it has participated (second and third place in 2010 and 2009, respectively). Carlos Rodríguez, skipper of the regatta team, commands a highly experienced and competitive crew that has already won the Copa del Rey three times with other boats.
Lluís Blanchar has personally overseen the set-up of the Comet@ for this edition of the Copa del Rey. The owner of the Comet@ has extensive experience as a sailor. He has been competing in the Cruising class for six years, where he has achieved a runner-up position in the Spanish Championship and four Catalan Championships. Carlos Rodríguez, meanwhile, is a highly experienced sailor who has won several prestigious trophies such as the PalmaVela, Princesa Sofía, Zegna, Godó, Audi Challenge, the Queen’s Cup, and several editions of the Copa del Rey.
Varador 2000 has been supporting competitive nautical sports for thirty years . Over the last three decades, it has sponsored numerous boats that have won numerous competitions and trophies, such as the Copa del Rey sailing championship in 2010 and 2012 with the Comet 41 Power Plate. It has also sponsored numerous regattas and nautical events of all kinds, such as the Menorca Biosphere Reserve Regatta (2013), among many others.
